 What is JIAS?

What is Johansen Individualised Auditory Stimulation?

Johansen Individualised Auditory Stimulation (JIAS) was developed in Denmark by Dr. Kjeld Johansen, director of the Baltic Dyslexia Research Laboratory (see www.dyslexia-lab.dk) from origional work by Christian A. Volf.

Sennheiser HD 515 Headphones

The programme involves listening to a series of specially recorded music CDs for 10 to 15 minutes per day , for a period of approximately 9 months . The CDs can be listened to at any time of the day, through headphones on a personal stereo.

The music is usually customised to the specific needs of the individual. This can be done using the information gained from an audiometric (hearing) assessment. Individualised CDs are recorded using Sensograph's newly developed computer technology and software.
